It can leave you feeling overwhelmed, out of control and emotionally depleted. You may sometimes long for the person you used to be. What you thought you wanted for your future may not be living up to your expectations. It can feel exhausting and extremely lonely. For more than 15 years, I have supported new parents and individuals who long to feel more fulfilled with their lives or more connected in their relationships but feel suffocated by stress or shame. I help them work through their feelings of ‘stuckness’ and distress so they can take better care of themselves and discover a happier and more confident life.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>My love for listening to other people’s stories inspired me to pursue a career in social work. It’s a privilege to learn about people’s histories, what keeps them moving forward in times of difficulty and their hopes and dreams for the future. When working with my clients, I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of my client. These approaches include emotion-focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), narrative therapy and emotionally focused therapy (EFT). It’s important that everyone who comes to see me knows they’re not alone. I like to slow things down and work in small manageable steps because I know how difficult it can be to be vulnerable. I wake up every day looking forward to meeting new people, following them on their journey and being inspired. I look forward to meeting you!</image:caption>

Clients who come to see me are often struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship distress and general feelings of discontentment or being “stuck”. I also offer postpartum counselling to new moms and dads who may be experiencing symptoms of depression or anxiety after bringing their baby home.</image:caption>

More than anything, I’m fascinated by their stories, their experiences and how they interact with their environment and the people in their lives.  I take a rather eclectic approach to therapy. No two clients are the same and I’m mindful to create plans of care that are tailored to their unique needs and goals. I draw on a variety of evidence-based interventions and modalities in my practice including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. I draw on a variety of therapeutic techniques, including elements of CBT and talk therapy, to create a plan of care that is responsive and uniquely tailored to my clients’ needs. I’m also trained in attachment theory, trauma-informed therapy, narrative therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Individuals who come to see me are often experiencing symptoms of anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem or low mood. I also work with people who are struggling with major life transitions, including the arrival of a new baby, the dissolution of a relationship or the loss of a loved one. I know that life has its ups and downs but you don’t have to face it alone. I hope we can work together on your therapy journey.</image:caption>

As a mother of young children myself, I have a special interest in supporting parents in the prenatal and postpartum periods. I appreciate the unique challenges, emotions, and physical and mental changes that the transition to parenthood can bring and am honoured to assist others through this journey. I’m genuinely interested in understanding what’s important to your mental health and supporting you towards wellness. I’ve been working in a therapeutic role with clients for over 15 years, and have come to appreciate how each person is unique and can benefit from individualized care. I hope to help you process emotions, develop self-compassion, and create healthy coping strategies. I have a special interest and training in providing therapeutic counselling for clients with challenges during pregnancy, birthing or in early parenting, including parents who are fostering and adopting.</image:caption>
