Welcome

Hello, I’m Lindsay Ross (she/her), owner and director of Midtown Toronto Therapy. I understand that life isn’t always what you expected it to be. It can leave you feeling overwhelmed, out of control and emotionally depleted. You may sometimes long for the person you used to be. What you thought you wanted for your future may not be living up to your expectations. It can feel exhausting and extremely lonely.

For more than 15 years, I have supported new parents and individuals who long to feel more fulfilled with their lives or more connected in their relationships but feel suffocated by stress or shame. I help them work through their feelings of ‘stuckness’ and distress so they can take better care of themselves and discover a happier and more confident life.

My Approach

My love for listening to other people’s stories inspired me to pursue a career in social work. It’s a privilege to learn about people’s histories, what keeps them moving forward in times of difficulty and their hopes and dreams for the future.

When working with my clients, I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of my client. These approaches include emotion-focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), narrative therapy and emotionally focused therapy (EFT).

It’s important that everyone who comes to see me knows they’re not alone. I like to slow things down and work in small manageable steps because I know how difficult it can be to be vulnerable.
